At Carraig Rua we bake a range of real breads, from French Sourdough to a made-without-gluten Buckwheat & Apple Bread.
We take pride in our ingredients and skills, and let these speak for themselves in our bakes. Here are some of the breads we make:
Organic French Sourdough Loaf: Crusty white organic sourdough bread. Traditionally made with 36-48 hour fermentation. Made with our own sourdough starter and premium flour. Vegan Friendly.
Organic Multigrain Spelt Loaf: Made with our own spelt sourdough starter & wholemeal rye and spelt flours.
Organic Farmers Bread : Cold fermentation over 16 hours to allow a deeper complexity of flavour. Made with a special wholegrain wheat flour from the Bavarian mountain range. Vegan Friendly.
Olive Ciabatta: Made from semolina and wheat flour, olive oil and Kalamata olives.
We provide all the breads and burger buns for Ireland’s first (and only) organic Drive Thru restaurant, Honestly Farm Kitchen in Carrick-on-Shannon. We also supply Honestly Farm Kitchens in Strandhill, Co. Sligo.
Our breads are used in the restaurant’s dishes and also are available in the Honestly Kitchen Farm Shops, alongside other organic produce from their farm.
We supply two other local restaurants and we are joining markets in 2023.
