Joyce Country Bakery is a micro bakery in Clonbur, in the Gaeltacht, run by Mary and Anya. Mary is from Ireland and Anya is Russian.
In their words:
“We specialise in traditional Irish breads, white sourdough, and traditional Russian rye sourdoughs, as well as treats such as tea brack, apple tart, and ginger bread. We use organic flour where possible, only real butter, and free range eggs.
We were planning to open a bakery in our village in May 2020, but due to Covid-19 we had to change our plans. Instead we rented a commercial kitchen, and started a free local bread delivery service using contactless payment and online ordering.
We now sell some of our products in local Centra and plan to open our bakery in the village when the time is right.”
“For the moment we offer free delivery to customers in Clonbur, Cornamona, Cong, the Neale, Finny, and Cloughbrack. If you live in those areas, please place your order before Wednesday noon for delivery on Friday afternoon.
